What started out as a unique datenight has led to an exciting new career path. Now I am a full stack web developer familiar with front-end design, API implementation and back-end development. Through Lambda School and various Udemy courses I have become well versed in numerous coding languages and programs.
As part of a team of seven Web Developers along with three Data Scientists, I worked on an app to collect and organize case information for Human Rights First, an NGO that helps asylum seekers. This app is still being refined but the image link will take you to an article I wrote about our version of the app.

This coding test challenged me to authenticate users and impletment unit tests. JSON webtokens and bycrypt middleware were used to authenticate users while protecting their information. For example, users' passwords were hashed upon entry via bycrypt and once hashed they could not be reverted to plain text. Jest was used to write unit tests to make sure that each step along the way was working correctly.
